Our Mission Statement: The Rescue Mission of Utica, Inc. is a Christian Ministry, established to proclaim, in word and deed, the life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ, by unconditionally endeavoring to assess and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those individuals seeking assistance.Job Title: Steward - PTJob Summary: Responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitized, safe and organized dining room and kitchen. This position requires the person to often stand for eight hours at a time. It also requires a person to lift and transport items weighing 50+ pounds.Essential Job Functions•Clean dining room after each meal by wiping down tables, cleaning beverage area, sweeping and mopping dining room floor.•Refill napkin dispensers and salt and pepper shakers.•Maintain beverage and coffee machines.•Operate and unload dishwasher. •Set up serving line with plates, soup bowls and salad bowls. •Maintain a clean drain board area.•Break up boxes that are in the receiving area and bundle them up with twine.•Empty garbage cans. •Put incoming stock away.•Monitor the sanitation checklist daily to determine if there are any areas that need special cleaning attention.•Use/wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times as required.•Observe safe work practices at all times.•Abide by all Mission, program and safety policies, procedures and guidelines.•Attend and participate in regular meetings and trainings as requested by your supervisor.•All other duties as requested by your supervisor.Minimum Job Qualifications•High School Diploma or GED.•Genuine desire to pursue a career in Food Service.•(1) year experience working in a food service environment•Working knowledge of a professional cooking environment helpful.•Serve Safe Certificate helpful.•Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.•Clean/valid NYS Driver’s License preferred.•Enthusiastic support of our Mission Statement.Status/Hours: Part-Time, 26 hours per week, Thursday 7am-1pm, Friday-Saturday 8am-6pmPay Rate: $15.00-16.00 DOEBenefits: We offer a comprehensive benefit package for eligible employees to include medical, dental, life insurance, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holidays and paid training.The Rescue Mission of Utica is an equal opportunity employer encouraging individuals with disabilities and veterans to apply.
