Unity House SpEd ft/pt/per diem positions in Troy, New York
$5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS for all eligible candidates! A Child's Place at Unity House of Troy has opportunities available in our Special Education Department for Full-Time School Calendar, Part-time and Substitute Special Education Teachers. Monday - Friday 8am-1:30pm
If you are a retired teacher and looking for part time work that won’t impact your NYS pension, consider working as a substitute for us! You may be considered for a long-term substitute position at an increased per diem basis, if desired.
Pay is based on experience and degree/certification. Salary starting point is posted for Associates level ending with BA level starting salary.
Masters level salary will be determined.
Responsibilities:
Assess the needs of young children with special needs in the Preschool Special Education classroom.
Address educational and behavioral needs based upon individual children’s using knowledge in evidence-based practices.
Adapt behavioral plans accordingly.
Work supportively in a multi-disciplinary team for the advantage of the entire classroom.
Work collaboratively with all staff and administration to benefit the needs of all the children.
Perform student assessment and evaluation required.
Promote a classroom of inclusion and belonging.
Requirements:
New graduates will be considered. Bachelor's or Master's Degree and certification in Students with Disabilities Birth to Grade 2 preferred. Associate level encouraged to apply. Proficient writing and computer skills, ability to support behavior plans. Must have reliable transportation, clean/ valid NYS driver's.
