What you will do:

Respond to victims of crime, including sexual assault, throughout Child Advocacy Centers covered by the St. Peter’s Health Partners Forensic Nursing Program.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence collection and medico-legal examinations of crime victims when on call

  • Required to provide testimony if subpoenaed

  • Communicates with medical team, law enforcement and victims; advocating before, during, and after the exam as needed

  • Provides individualized care to each victim adhering to confidentiality and privacy

  • Functions as a mandated reporter

  • Have Availability to cover pediatric examinations as needed

What you will need:

  • Current RN License in State of New York

  • 3 Years RN Experience with 1 year experience caring for pediatric sexual assault patients independently

  • BLS

  • NYSAFE Certification

  • SANE-P Recommended

  • Fast Critical Thinking skills

  • Communication/Bedside Manner skills

  • Good Assessment skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Pay Range: $36.50 - $49.95

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
