SUNY Upstate Medical University Speech Language Pathologist in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

Performs therapy services according to Early Intervention (EI) and/or Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) regulations. Participates in the follow-through of child’s Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) and/or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). Intervenes directly with a child to enhance his/her development. Performs assigned evaluations for speech and language according to accepted clinical practices and Golisano Center for Special Needs (GCSN) Interdisciplinary Diagnostic Team (IDT) policy. Participates in post-conference sessions, family conferences, and follow-up procedures; prepares all written documentation; tracks evaluation process; performs liaison activities with families, involved agencies and professionals; and writes team summaries. Plans and implements follow-up programs with IDT. Provides short-term consultation services as time permits. Participates in the delivery of professional training activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters degree in speech/language pathology, NYS licensure, clinical certification in Speech Pathology (or its equivalent) and completion of one year of clinical fellowship required. Three years of relevant Speech Language Pathology experience working with children with disabilities, demonstrated ability to work on interdisciplinary teams and effective report writing and computer skills required. Current CPR/BLS certification required by time of appointment.

4 days per week, M-F 8:00am - 4:30pm
