Responsible for performing breakdown and preventative maintenance on production and supporting equipment. * $5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS*

Essential Duties & Tasks

  • Carry out tasks issued by maintenance shift supervisor.

  • Troubleshoot support system problems using basic problem solving skills.

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment assigned to you.

  • Complete all standard work orders and preventative maintenance tasks assigned. Submit all completed paperwork.

  • Record information in required logbooks for systems history and continuous improvement.

  • Record any parts/components used for repairs to ensure replenishment of On-Hand balances are maintained, and properly dispose of used parts/components.

  • Ensure quality standards set by the company are adhered to after PM’s and/or repairs are made to equipment.

  • Perform machine repairs based upon a maintenance call or an assignment in a timely fashion.

  • Maintain cleanliness of the areas you are working in; properly dispose the parts/components you have replaced.

  • Promote a safe and harmonious work environment with adherence to company policy, procedures, safety and health regulations.

  • Maintain compliance with S.Q.F. Certification.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of a GED or High School Diploma

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

  • Technical training or electrical/mechanical technician degree, or verifiable comparable experience

  • Food manufacturing background is a plus

  • Must be able to operate forklifts and pallet jacks (electric/manual)

  • Experience with programmable logic controller, instruments and controls is preferred

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience within the mechanical field; working with boilers, ammonia refrigeration, air compressors, air handling units and HVAC is a plus

Area Specific

  • Must be able to work within varied temperature ranges; Must be able to work with numerous forms of energy such as electricity, steam, pneumatic, mechanical; Must be able to read, interpret and comprehend schematics and blueprints; Must be able top use Human Interface Machines and computers (stop and start-up); Must be able to lift up to and including 50lbs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Mechanical:

  • Knowledge of how your assigned equipment operates

  • Basic knowledge & troubleshooting skills in mechanics. Experience with; plumbing, pumps, seals & gaskets, drive systems (gear, belt, and chain), bearings & bushings, fastener thread designations & properties of lubricants.

  • Basic knowledge & troubleshooting skills in pneumatics. Experience with; basic understanding of how pneumatics work, knowledge of the function and type of control components.

  • Basic knowledge & troubleshooting skills in hydraulics. Experience with; basic understanding of how hydraulics work, knowledge of the function and type of control components, read and understand basic hydraulic prints.

  • Basic knowledge & troubleshooting skills in electrical. Experience with; understanding basic single phase wiring, correct use of a multimeter, AC & DC power, fuses and breakers, read and understand basic electrical prints, basic knowledge of three phase wiring, identify and change three phase motor rotation, proper motor and name plate reading, actuators & sensors, PLC

Other:

  • Knowledge of general computer functions such as Microsoft Office programs, spreadsheets, etc.

  • Knowledge of basic safety regulations

  • Possess good mechanical aptitude to disassemble and assemble all types of equipment

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously

Pay: $26-30 per hour*

*The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package.
