The physical therapist is responsible for providing assessment and therapeutic services in his/her licensed Profession for assigned individuals through Ridge Health Services Clinic.

Position: Physical Therapist

Compensation Range: $33.00-37.88

Hours: Full time (35 hours/week), Part time (20 hours/week) or Per Diem (FLEXIBLE). No weekends!

The Physical Therapist is responsible for providing assessment and therapeutic services in his/her licensed Profession for assigned individuals through Schenectady ARC’s clinic, Ridge Health Services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Act in the capacity of a professional practitioner to provide diagnostic, palliative, preventive, or rehabilitative/ habilitative services to eligible persons.

  • Provide services in accordance with generally acceptable community standards of professional practice and in conformance to the requirements of all-applicable statutes and regulations. This includes but is not limited to 14 NYCRR Parts 679, 620, 624, 633, 635, and 636

  • Document in each person’s confidential clinical record all diagnostic assessment reports, individual plans of treatment, and treatment notes regarding service being recommended and/or delivered

  • Per treatment recommendations, consult with each person receiving services and/or collaterals regarding treatment outcomes and course of treatment

  • Serve as clinical supervisor to physical therapist assistants as needed

  • Review and sign off as necessary the written work of PTA staff

  • Serve as a resource to all staff and consumers on a formal and informal basis

  • Develop a working knowledge of relevant OPWDD and SARC policies and procedures

  • Attend in-service training, and other professional development as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Appropriate education from an accredited institution and current NYS licensure in physical therapy

*Valid NYS driver’s license that meets Agency guidelines

  • Basic computer skills

  • One-year full-time treatment experience with persons having developmental disabilities preferred but not required. NEW GRADS WELCOME!
