LIFEGUARD 1
Department: Aquatics
Job Classification: Part Time
Supervised by: Aquatics Director/Assistant Director
Position Summary:
Under the Supervision of Aquatics Management lifeguards will ensure the safety of patrons of the aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Maintain a high level of professionalism
Will be rescue ready ( swimsuit, uniform, whistle, & personal protective equipment)
Remain vigilant and act quickly in making rescues and rendering aid
Enforce water safety standards (rules) and departmental regulations
Actively participate in all in-service trainings and drills
Exhibits excellent customer service
Maintain a clean and safe work area, which may include monitoring pool chlorine levels
Assist supervisors as requested
Provide excellent customer service to all members
Qualifications
Current American Red Cross Lifeguard; First Aid, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer; Waterfront Certifications.
Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness
Have an understanding of EAP procedures
Physical Demands:
Good physical condition and strength.
Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Able to stand on feet for long periods of time.
Able to squat and bend at the waist
