General Description
A great opportunity is available for an individual looking to grow their career and gain experience in field of higher education. SUNY Niagara is seeking an Admissions Recruiter to work in our Admissions department on a temporary basis. This position will report directly to the Interim Director of Admissions.
This position is responsible for recruitment and admission of prospective students through high school visits, outreach efforts and partnerships with community based organizations; works collaboratively with the Coordinator of Multicultural Students on events/activities for underrepresented populations; maintains regular reports of recruitment efforts and enrollment of international students; meets with prospective students regarding college admissions; provides presentations on college admissions. To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
This position could be located at both the Sanborn, NY location and the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute location. Weekend and evening hours may be required.

Typical Work Activities
Plan & implement recruitment activities to students from all backgrounds to include high school visits, business & industry, community based organizations and other markets as assigned by supervisor
Assist prospective students with the admissions process, Student Outcome Tracking counseling, and Excelsior scholarship advisement.
Learn International student guidelines and become an international student representative on campus to help assist international students with enrollment issues at NCCC
Attend college fairs, parents nights, SUNY recruitment functions, and other recruitment oriented activities and events as needed.
Assist with campus based recruitment & marketing activities and events & campus tours
Utilize the CRM and student information system to process student info, maintain records and prepare reports
Perform assigned duties to assist students in the following processes: admission, registration, advisement, financial resources, and other student support services.
Prepare and provide admission presentations to groups
Serve as a liaison between the Registration and Records office and help evaluate transfer credit through the transcript evaluation process.
Serve on college committees as requested
Other duties as assigned

Must be able to relate to members of the administration, faculty, staff and student body; must be able to coordinate numerous tasks and projects simultaneously; must be able to operate the student data base system; must be able to prepare and present reports; must be able to prepare and provide presentations to groups; must be able to relate to multiple and diverse populations; must have capability to travel; must be able to work evenings and weekends as required; must be able to maintain a polished, professional appearance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree;
One year full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience working in a higher education setting;
Work experience that includes preparing and making presentations to groups.
Valid driver’s license.
Desirable Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Student Personnel Administration/Higher Education or related field;
Experience in college admissions and/or recruitment of underrepresented students;
One year full-time or equivalent part-time working with underrepresented populations within urban areas seeking education and training;
Experience with Slate CRM , Banner student information system;
Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Publisher.
