Position Summary: As a member of the St. John’s Protective Services Team, The Protective Services Officer provides safety and protection to residents, visitors and employees by participating in regular Facility checks to ensure safety of facility and grounds. Responsibilities include:
Monitors the CCTV systems and building to ensure safety.
Maintains accurate daily logs by reporting observations, occurrences and surveillance activities.
Responds to emergencies, such as fire alarms, medical incidents, resident alerts or weather-related events in accordance with procedures.
Performs walking tours of facility and grounds.
Monitors door & assistance alarms.
Leads the way in customer service and answers SJH phone system.
Investigates & reports unsafe practices or conditions.
Completes reports by observations, occurrences and surveillance activities.
Assist in conducting major & minor investigations of incidents and/or accidents.
Make safety inspection tours of the facility as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Valid NYS driver license with ability to meet agency driving standards required.
NYS Security Guard License required with two years of experience
Current eight- and sixteen-hour course certificates preferred.
Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures.
Ability to perform duties in a professional manner.
Knowledge of providing customer and personal services.
CPR & AED certified (adult and child) and remain current.
