Job Function:
Assist staff with the delivery of services. Provide general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. This position will need to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and produce high-quality work with minimum supervision. Provide excellent customer service in front desk coverage and triage. Cultivate a welcoming, inclusive environment for all students and visitors.
Primary Functions:
Provide a welcoming environment to students and visitors
Serve as receptionist: greet visitors, check in students, answer phones, schedule Starfish appointments
Triage student needs to various departments throughout the College
Assist students with basic functions, such as completing admissions application; printing enrollment verifications, etc.
Supervise student workers at the front desk
Serve as a department web liaison; update website, as needed
Ability to use DegreeWorks and Banner (Self Service and Production)
Train new front desk staff
Secondary Functions:
Collaborate with student workers to assist students with basic functions
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director

Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Must currently hold the title of Office Clerk II or be reachable on the Civil Service Eligibility list titled Office Clerk II, or meet the following minimum qualifications for a provisional appointment, if offered;
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
(A) Graduation with an Associate's degree or successful completion of at least sixty (60) credit hours from a college or university; OR,
(B) Two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent office clerical or secretarial experience*; OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
*Experience as a Teller, Cashier or Sales Clerk will not be considered appropriate experience for the purposes of these minimum qualifications.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: If you are appointed, you will be required to possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State or otherwise demonstrate your capacity to meet the transportation needs of the position
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State college or university with an associate's degree in office technology or a closely related field
Experience using Banner and/or other student information systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Experience working with a multi-cultural/diverse population
Strong customer service and communication skills
Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently

Job Type: Full-Time
Hours: 8:45 AM - 4:45 PM
Salary: $38,638.57 with step increment at 6 months
