Job Description:

Highland Hospital is interested in adding additional provider support to its critical care team. We're looking for Part or Full Time Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners to join our ICU. We're open to 10 or 12 hour shifts, Day or Night interest. The role offers a sign on bonus of up to $10,000.00 for anyone eligible*. $10k would be for a Full Time, 1.0 FTE employee (40 hour a week equivalent), and would be prorated by FTE, i.e. $5k for a .5FTE (20 hour a week equivalent)

Primarily days with some night coverage needed to cover vacations – additional stipend for the night coverage!

There is flexibility in the number of hours per shift 10-12 and days of the week/weekend. We will work with you on schedule to accommodate your needs!

Some duties include but are not limited to:

Medical coverage in the ICU, evaluation & management of intensive care unit patients covered by the critical care team. The ICU PA/NP (provider) reports to the ICU Medical Director for clinical and administrative issues pertaining to the ICU. For broader administrative issues the Chief of Medicine should be consulted. The attending critical care physician on service is available for consultation regarding specific patient related problems. The attending of record should be informed of any significant change in a patient’s clinical status.

Salary Range:

*$93,000.00 - $119,642.00 annually

*Amount is based on a 40 hour work week. Amount paid out would have the same hourly equivalent but would be based on hours worked.

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Job Requirements:

1. Education : Graduate of an approved PA or NP program and nationally certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners.

2. Experience: Two to five years in-patient or ICU or critical care PA/NP experience. Demonstrated autonomy and competency managing critically ill patients and excellent problem solving ability. Able to independently perform some invasive procedures. Demonstrated leadership experience in coordinating clinical services for acutely ill patients.

3 . License/Certification Required : ACLS certified. Stroke Certification required within one year of hire.

4 . Skills: Proficiency in central venous and arterial access. Management and resuscitation of unstable patients. Management of respiratory failure including proficiency with standard modes of mechanical ventilation.
