Stantec’s Rochester, NY office is looking for a Landscape Designer!

We are looking for an individual who has a passion for design, and enjoys working closely with architects, landscape architects, planners, environmental scientists, and other specialties. The Stantec Rochester NY office is seeking a highly motivated Landscape Designer to assist with all phases of the design process. Stantec is a global consulting firm, offering opportunities to be involved in a variety of planning, urban design, and landscape architecture projects and collaborate with Stantec’s leading experts in a variety of fields.

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Landscape Designer, you will join a collaborative professional staff to grow your design talents and creativity through a truly multidiscipline setting. As a member of this design team, you will assist with a wide variety of exciting projects that will assist with learning, growing, and enhancing your professional skills in an exciting, dynamic environment.

In this entry level position, you will advance your technical skills while working together with the project team in developing creative and sustainable design solutions under the tutelage of a Senior Landscape Architect. Being creative and detail oriented, you will produce design documents to include conceptual master plans, site plans, landscape construction details, landscape plans, renderings (hand and computer generated), cost estimates, specifications, site analysis and regulatory/code research.

Specific responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Utilizing knowledge of the general concepts of landscape design to develop site analysis, project theming, schematic design, and design development.

  • Assisting the project team with the preparation of project documentation during all phases of design, such as project graphics and exhibits, site grading, paving designs, walls, structures, site lighting, planting and irrigation design, as well as layout of land uses for buildings and other facilities.

  • Preparing and coordinating technical activities on assigned projects

  • Assisting in the development of designs through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.

  • Supporting construction administration on projects by attending workshops, site visits and/or construction meetings, and assisting in preparing sketches or drawing revisions.

  • Assisting in the development of designs through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.

  • Performing due diligence and research on projects is required.

Qualifications

What Will You Need to Succeed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or graduate degree from accredited university.

  • Previous internship and/or related full-time work experience.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • $50,000 - $70,000 Min/Max Pay Range(s) for postings located in NYC/NY

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
