10-15 hours per week

$17-$22 per hour

Under the direction of a named Director, this position will develop, administer and lead the swim team program for the YMCA of Greater Rochester. This individual would ensure that the program exceeds the participant’s expectations and is in line with all association policies. The Administrator will be the main point of contact for all coaches as it relates to our team’s member management software. The Administrator will develop the meet schedule, assist with organizing practices/locations, and develop suggested practice curriculum that can be used by all coaches. The Administrator will help train volunteers to help run meets and educate all parents on our team and their responsibilities to the team. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester are conveyed

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Oversee swim team programming for all locations in the Association.

· Develop swim practice curriculum for swim team and communicate with coaches to ensure consistency and high level programming at all locations in the Association. Ensure curriculum is developed in line with USA Swimming and YUSA swimming best practices.

· Coordinate with the Aquatics Director(s) to assist with organizing practices and pool time across the association.

· Coordinate registrations, entry id, and coaching for all swim meets.

· Provide appropriate record keeping on all swimmers, meets and events.

· Assist with recruiting, hiring, and training coaches, including training in using Team Unify.

· Work closely with parent volunteers and League Commissioner keeping the Aquatic Director(s) informed of any policy changes or league updates.

· Work with other YMCA Associations to create league schedule.

· Process all orders and invoices in a timely manner by working with parents and preferred vendors.

· Ensure all program operations are consistent with Association procedures, including emergency, insurance, accident, purchasing, personnel, and accounting systems.

· Assist in the overall facility appearance, related equipment, and safety issues.

· Attend all required meetings, events, and trainings.

· All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

· Must be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.

· Must have at least three years’ documented coaching experience.

· Must possess the knowledge and ability to teach all competitive strokes, and rules and regulations to team members.

· Excellent communication and organizational skills required.

· Ability to work in self-directed environment.

· Current CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and First Aid Certification.

· Certification in Oxygen Administration or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

· Must hold or obtain within 30 days of hire all trainings/certifications required by USA Swimming.

· Must have knowledge and experience with Team Unify, Team Manager, and Meet Manager software systems.

· Certification in YMCA or RED Cross Lifeguarding and YMCA Swimming Coach Officials preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be able to stand for extended duration of shift.

· Must be able to bend and stoop frequently.

· Remain alert with no lapse in consciousness.

· Must be able to meet the strength and lifting requirements for a lifeguard.

· Must be able to communicate verbally, including projecting voice across distances and communicate swiftly and effectively.

Salary Description

$17.00-$22.00 per hour
