GENERAL DUTIES
I.T. Senior Associates perform highly complex professional work in technology-related disciplines. While areas of specialization vary, typically I.T. Senior Associates perform a range of work in development/programming, communications, technical support, or similar functions depending on the needs of the Information Technology area to which they report. Work tasks include diagnosing, evaluating, overseeing and resolving highly complex projects. They have wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment and may serve in lead roles on complex programs or projects, and/or serve as a direct supervisor of a unit or group.
I.T. Senior Associates should demonstrate mastery of one or more technology-related disciplines, decision-making ability in situations related to those disciplines, and be able to serve as a resource in these areas. They may contribute to decisions on I.T. policies and technical standards.

City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law seeks highly qualified candidates for the position of IT Senior Associate (Level 1).

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Information Technology Senior Associate is primarily responsible for managing and performing expert-level technical work related to the installation, maintenance, configuration, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrade of server, desktop, and laptop computer systems as well as networking technologies at the CUNY School of Law.
Responsibilities:
Design, configure, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot virtualized server environment (VMWare and Microsoft Windows). Resolve highly complex problems related to all aspects of this system and its underlying infrastructure.
Maintain and troubleshoot Cisco wireless network, including access points, wireless LAN controller, and Cisco ISE posture-assessment system. Maintain switch and router infrastructure. Manage upgrades and deployments as necessary.
Manage Palo Alto Cortex XDR anti-malware system. Perform timely upgrades and respond to malware threats as needed. Act as an expert resource for anti-malware issues to end users as well as other IT personnel.
Manage SOTA HR-Assist electronic time and leave server for Human Resources. Interface with developer as needed to ensure software is promptly updated and maintained.
Troubleshoot voice and data connectivity issues, whether related to network infrastructure equipment or wiring; repair or replace equipment, wiring, jacks, and/or connectors as necessary.
Supervise helpdesk personnel in the absence of the Manager of User Services. Direct technical work including installation, configuration, testing, upgrades, troubleshooting, backups, and maintenance; applicable platforms include Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Apple macOS 12 through 15, as well as office productivity and other applications running on those platforms.
Lead school-wide technology deployments, as well other enterprise-level special technical projects. Train other IT personnel as required to assist with lower-level technical tasks related to new technology systems.
Evaluate the quality of work performed by vendors of technology services, preparing written reports or verbal presentations as needed.
Stay abreast of computer technology beneficial to the School of Law; recommend and implement new services and technologies, including new hardware and software releases and upgrades; research and test hardware and software to maintain or enhance user services; recommend the purchase of such materials.
Author and/or edit technical documents, notices, documentation and quick-reference guides. Provide expert-level guidance in development of scopes of work and other technical documentation related to procurement and implementation of technology. Perform technical reviews of documentation provided by vendors or other providers of technology services.
This position will require occasional evening and/or weekend shifts.
This position is subject to the same in-person requirements as others in the Law School, which entail a minimum of 70% in-person on-campus presence over two weeks. This requirement for in-person work may be higher than 70% based on departmental and divisional needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
An equivalent of ten years of experience post-high school that can be met by one of the following: ten years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology related position; an Associate's degree plus eight years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus six years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position
Demonstrated English Language proficiency
A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.
This title has three levels. In addition to the minimum qualifications above, To qualify for Levels 2 and 3, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required.
COMPENSATION
$101,762
