AHRC Nassau Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist part time Citizens in Plainview, New York
To provide medical nutrition therapy which will enhance the health and well being of individuals.
Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
Provides medical nutrition therapy. Instruction is given regarding specialized diets for diabetes, hyperlipidermia, celiac disease and other medical conditions. Provides information on healthful meal planning, grocery shopping and meal preparation.
Completes comprehensive nutritional assessments and follow-up progress notes. Documentations are completed according to nutrition department protocol.
Recommends specialized diets to physicians on behalf of individuals after completing nutritional assessments
Conducts nutritional assessments including dietary history, medical history, anthropometric measurement, biochemical assessment and pharmaceutical assessment as needed to determine dietary requirements.
Participates in scheduled supervisory sessions.
Assists in assignments as instructed by supervisor.
Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
Ensure that work-related safety procedures are in place and are being adhered to by staff. Observance of an unsafe act or a potentially hazardous work environment must be immediately reported to supervisor and/or safety committee.
Master's degree in Nutrition from an accredited institution or dietetic internship preferred.
At least one (1) year experience working with I/DD population preferred.
NYS Dept. of Education Certification mandatory.
Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred.
