Amergis $45/hr RN Bus Run. Part Time in Niagara Falls, New York
The 1:1 School Registered Nurse (RN) oversees the application of the nursing process and the delivery of student care in a school setting. The School RN provides services in accordance with District and Amergis Healthcare’s philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.
Minimum Requirements:
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing
One year of school nursing experience, preferred
Pediatric experience, preferred
Current CPR if applicable
TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
General Comments
Key Responsibilities:
Medication Delivery:
Ride the school bus from 6:15 AM to 9:45 AM to each student's residence.
Deliver medications to students' homes, either directly to parents/guardians or by walking up to the house.
Ensure all medications are securely transported and handed over to the appropriate recipient.
Health Office Coordination:
After completing the medication deliveries, bring all remaining medications to the school health office.
Coordinate with health office personnel to ensure proper receipt and documentation of medications.
Seizure Monitoring:
Monitor students for any signs of seizures during transportation.
Provide immediate assistance and follow established protocols in the event of a seizure.
Qualifications:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff.
Basic knowledge of seizure management and first aid is preferred.
Reliable and punctual with a commitment to student safety and well-being.
Working Conditions:
Primarily involves riding the school bus and walking short distances to students' homes.
Interaction with students, parents, and school personnel on a daily basis.
Bus run time is from 6:15 AM to 9:45 AM.
