The Laundry Assistant will be responsible for the collection, sorting, washing, drying, and distribution of laundry to ensure a steady supply of resident clothing.
STATUS: Part Time
LOCATION: DeMay Living Center 100 Sunset Drive Newark, NY 14513
DEPARTMENT: Administration
SCHEDULE: 20 hours Monday - Friday, weekends as needed flexible schedule
ATTRIBUTES
- Able to prioritize and follow verbal and written instructions highly preferred.
- Customer service driven highly desired.
- Attention to detail
- Collect, sort and launder personal clothing of residents
- Maintain inventory and track laundry supplies
- Properly utilize laundry equipment and detergents
- Inspect clothes for stains and damages
- Hand, store and distribute clean laundry properly
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Ensure laundry areas are kept clean and tidy
- Proper documentation will be completed for each unit of laundry laundered
- Report any maintenance or repair needs of laundry equipment to the supervisor
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Previous laundry assistant experience preferred.
Required Licensure/Certification:
None
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
PAY RANGE: $17.00 - $18.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
