Position Summary

This position allows the peer Language Tutor to apply knowledge learned inside the classroom to the practical application and skills development of language students.

Position Duties

  • Tutor beginner and intermediate level students in one or more of the following languages: Spanish, French, Italian

  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic by being punctual and prepared for all sessions

  • Report on session outcomes to language faculty

  • Extend knowledge by developing an understanding of content subject matter

    Position Qualifications

  • Must qualify in one of the following ways: earned “B+” or higher in the language course(s) to be tutored; is a language major at an advanced language level, or is a Native/Heritage speaker

  • Instructor recommendation

  • Earned overall GPA of 3.3 or higher

  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with faculty members to encourage student participation

  • Ability to provide strong customer service

    Work Hours

Variable depending on demand.

Hourly Rate Range $15.00 - $15.00/hour
