Position Summary
This position allows the peer Language Tutor to apply knowledge learned inside the classroom to the practical application and skills development of language students.
Position Duties
Tutor beginner and intermediate level students in one or more of the following languages: Spanish, French, Italian
Demonstrate a strong work ethic by being punctual and prepared for all sessions
Report on session outcomes to language faculty
Extend knowledge by developing an understanding of content subject matter
Position Qualifications
Must qualify in one of the following ways: earned “B+” or higher in the language course(s) to be tutored; is a language major at an advanced language level, or is a Native/Heritage speaker
Instructor recommendation
Earned overall GPA of 3.3 or higher
Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to build collaborative relationships with faculty members to encourage student participation
Ability to provide strong customer service
Work Hours
Variable depending on demand.
Hourly Rate Range $15.00 - $15.00/hour
