Summary As a Legal Assistant, you will lead a variety of high level technical, operational, and administrative support activities for attorneys and managers in the Chief Counsel's Office (CCO). Chief Counsel's Office Northeastern District Responsibilities As a Legal Assistant, you will: Utilize applicable databases (e.g., CLEAR, EAMS, Relativity (or other similar system), FinCEN/SAR, FDMS, SharePoint, and EMS) and other sources to conduct research and collect, track, upload, and summarize information in support of legal, supervision, and licensing matters. Prepare written materials and/or correspondence relating to requests and responses to federal/state courts and agencies and banks and knowledge sharing/cross training initiatives, as applicable. Organize, review, redact, proofread, edit, and/or cite check documents, as applicable, in support of legal, supervision, and licensing matters. Organize and manage media and files and archives closed case or rulemaking files according to policy and regulation. Prepare management and other tracking reports using applicable software packages, such as MMS, to track information requests from other agencies, investigations, etc. Identify operational/administrative deficiencies through quality control/ assurance efforts. Advise unit management and staff on solutions and provides notices and reminders, etc. to ensure quality. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement: To qualify for the NB-IV level, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-III or GS-7 in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Providing legal technical support, such as (researching legal information, maintaining legal records, or assembling legal documents) for review by management; and Using office automation software programs to produce a variety of documents, such as (letters, reports, spreadsheets, or database reports) to support office operations; and Drafting legal documents or routine correspondence to present to management. OR As a general rule, education is not creditable at NB-IV and above for most clerical/administrative support positions; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position. OR Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Only graduate level education in excess of bachelor's degree may be combined with experience. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Education Additional Information This position is included in the bargaining unit NTEU 299. Salary range includes 40.93% geographical pay.
