The Work

As a Systems Architect supporting the Acoustic Sensors & Weapons Chief Engineering Organization, you will be responsible for the architecture and design of complex systems across multiple engineering domains. Your duties will include:

•Architecture development for systems spanning Analog, Digital, and Software domains

•Detailed design and implementation of system architectures

•Failure analysis and troubleshooting of complex systems

•Development of whitepapers and proposals to showcase innovative solutions

•Conducting trade studies and analysis to inform design decisions

•System integration across multiple programs within the ASW portfolio, including torpedo, sonar, and RF systems

•Hands-on involvement with hardware in laboratory environments as needed

Who You Are

We're seeking a Systems Architect with a strong technical background and expertise in multiple engineering domains, including Analog, Digital, and Software. The ideal candidate will have:

•A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field

•Extensive experience in system architecture development and design

•Proficiency in failure analysis and troubleshooting of complex systems

•Strong analytical skills and experience conducting trade studies and analysis

•Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with experience in whitepaper and proposal development

•Hands-on experience with hardware in laboratory environments

•Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment

Basic Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education.

•Experience spanning multiple engineering disciplines including Analog, Digital, and Software.

•Experience developing new architectures.

•Hands-on experience integrating complex architectures.

•Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, requires US citizenship

Desired Skills:

•Master’s degree or greater in Acoustics, RF, or related sensor domain.

•Experience at sea with Navy systems, either as an engineer or operator.

•Experience with 1LMX modern engineering practices.

•Experience interfacing with production and supporting design for manufacturability efforts.

•Effective Presentation & Communication Skills (written and verbal).

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $109,500 - $209,900 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $125,900 - $237,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
