Duties Description Under the direction of Disaster Recovery Programs Finance Management, the Student Assistant will assist a Disaster Recovery Finance team(s) with various activities including creating reports, process documentation activities, and administrative tasks.Duties include but are not limited to:• Assist with processing of programmatic payments to applicants.• Produce expenditure reports for reconciliation purposes, as well as various other reports as needed.• Review of various invoices for eligibility and appropriateness.• Assist with program documentation including organize, write, edit, and maintain documentation using appropriate software including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel).• Assist in locating and gathering various data from the NY Recovers system.• Create process documents as needed.• Assist with special or ad hoc assignments as needed.
Minimum Qualifications Applicants must: Be a United States citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States.Must be 18 years of age or older.Must be actively enrolled in a New York State college, university, or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State, attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State.Must be a currently enrolled graduate student.Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or equivalent to a C.Applicants must have the following skills:Ability to work independently;Attention to detail;Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint;Strong research and analytical skills;Excellent verbal/written communication.
