JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Manager at Papa John's is responsible for supporting the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. This role involves ensuring high standards of customer service, managing staff, maintaining operational efficiency, and upholding company policies and procedures. Key duties include supervising and training team members, handling inventory and supply orders, managing cash and financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Assistant Manager also plays a crucial role in fostering a positive work environment and addressing any customer or employee concerns promptly and effectively to enhance overall satisfaction and productivity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Staff Supervision and Training (40%)
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of team members.
Train new hires on company policies, procedures, and operational tasks.
Schedule shifts and manage staffing levels to ensure efficient operations.
Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to improve performance and morale.
Customer Service and Satisfaction (25%)
Interact with customers to ensure satisfaction and handle inquiries or complaints.
Monitor service standards and food quality to meet Papa John's brand expectations.
Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
Maintain a clean and welcoming environment for guests.
Inventory and Financial Management (20%)
Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
Control costs and expenses to meet budgetary goals.
Handle cash transactions and banking responsibilities.
Prepare financial reports and reconcile daily sales.
Health, Safety, and Compliance (15%)
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Implement and enforce safety procedures and emergency protocols.
Train staff on safety practices and ensure adherence to company policies.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

PHYSCAL REEQUIREMENTS
Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, as the role involves overseeing restaurant operations on the floor.
Lifting and Carrying: Capable of lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds, such as boxes of supplies or equipment, for short durations as needed during operational tasks.
Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in handling and operating restaurant equipment, including cash registers, food preparation tools, and cleaning supplies.
Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Stamina and agility to work efficiently during busy periods, managing multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous Supervisory Experience: Experience in a supervisory or management role within the restaurant industry, demonstrating leadership and team management skills.
Customer Service Expertise : Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and handling customer inquiries or issues effectively.
Knowledge of Food Safety Standards: Familiarity with food safety regulations and practices to ensure compliance and maintain a safe dining environment.
Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to analyze situations, identify problems, and implement solutions to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Team Development and Training: Experience in training and developing team members to enhance their skills and performance.
Financial Management : Understanding of basic financial principles, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
Flexibility and Adaptability : Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in a restaurant environment.
