J.C. Broderick & Associates, Inc. NYC DEP Certified Asbestos Investigator in Hauppauge, New York
JCB is looking to fill the position of NYC DEP certified asbestos investigator who will be working throughout the New York City area from our LIE service road home base in Hauppauge, Long Island. A current NYC DEP asbestos investigator certificate is required. Work will primarily be performed in various commercial and school buildings throughout the city. Entry level begins as a part-time/as-needed position. Valuable candidates will have the opportunity to enroll in JCB's full-time work status benefits program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:
- Perform asbestos project monitoring, surveys and inspections of buildings,,structures, or industrial sites to identify the presence of asbestos-ontaining materials within the five boroughs of NYC.
- Utilize mobile hand-held technologies to capture field data/information/photographs.
- Collect representative samples of suspected ACMs following established protocols and safety procedures.
- Maintain daily logs of activities related to project work.
- Knowledgeable of local, state, and federal regulations governing asbestos management
- Travel throughout New York City expected.
- Preparation of detailed field notes, observations, sketches, and other technical documentation.
- Coordination and implementation of field activities while working alone, or on small teams,,and with minimal supervision.
- Politely and professionally interact with building management and occupants.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Valid NYC DEP asbestos investigator cert
- Valid NYS DOL inspector cert
- Valid OSHA certification
- Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
- Flexible Availability for Variable Work Shifts. Primarily weekdays.
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to interact with general public in a respectful manner at all times.
- Ability to carry and climb ladders.
- Multi-Lingual with Spanish a plus
- NYC SCA or NYC DOE/DSF experience a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Salary: $38.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 60 per week
