Description

Reports to:Collaborating physician; Practice Manager

Rate of pay:$98,600 - $123,300 annually for full-time status; part-time or per diem status to be prorated based on hours scheduled

Work schedule:Flexible within Monday - Friday, daytime hours of Health Center; full-time, part-time, or per diem schedules are available

Position Summary:Provides Pediatric services to individuals referred to the Health Center.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conducts internal examinations with recommendations for treatment and follow-up care to individuals.

  • Conducts follow-up examinations with recommendations for any changes in the Care Plan.

  • Prescribes medications as condition indicates.

  • Make appropriate referrals when necessary.

  • Discusses the medical area of the treatment plan with the individual, parents, relatives/advocates, or guardians.

  • Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary clinic team to ensure the medical needs of patients are met.

  • Maintains confidential medical records.

  • Ensures referral and/or consultation with the collaborating physician.

  • Ensures compliance with all regulations of health and clinical services.

  • Ensures standards of medical care.

  • Assist nursing staff in providing emergency first aid, crisis intervention, and infection control procedures.

  • Ensure review of medical care provided and recommended by the collaborating physician.

  • Perform any other duties agreed upon with the Medical Director.

Requirements

  • Current, registered NYS Nurse Practitioner license (soon-to-be licensed Nurse Practitioners are welcome to apply)

  • Current Board certification

  • Current DEA certification

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs, lift and support patients with and without help, and push and pull carts.

  • Physical strength to subdue a patient to prevent patient or personal injury.

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.

  • Regular exposure to infectious diseases, blood and airborne pathogens, needle sticks, hygiene issues, and other odors.

  • Ability to read digital readouts, recognize colors, and operate necessary medical equipment.

  • Ability to wear necessary hospital masks, gowns, gloves, and closed-toed shoes.
