Periodically, adjunct teaching positions become available in the Architecture & Construction Management department. The following courses in architectural design and technology are part of the Architectural Engineering Technology and Construction Management Engineering Technology programs:
ARC255 - Architectural Design I
ARC257 - Architectural Design II
ARC310 - Construction Design
ARC376 - Architectural Design III
ARC476 - Architectural Design IV
ARC486 - Architectural Design V (Capstone - BS Arch Eng Technology)
CON361- Government, Building, Environmental, Codes & Regulations

Well qualified candidates will have experience in some or all of the following:
Course specific knowledge to teach in accordance with course learning objectives and student learning outcomes.
Knowledge of pre-design activities, including architectural programming, visualization, and field investigation
Knowledge of building construction materials and assemblies specified in building and site design
Knowledge of NFPA 220 Construction Types (Type I, Type II, Type III, Type IV, Type V)
Knowledge of prevailing building codes used in Long Island jurisdictions
Knowledge of construction drawings, construction notes and specification organization, layers and preparation
Knowledge of site design and construction for grading, drainage, site structures and pavement, and landscape preparation
Knowledge of design processes associated with architectural project planning, including schematic design, design development, construction document development, and project cost projection

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
B. Arch. (5 year), or
M. Arch., or
BS Arch. and MS in related field, or
BS in related field with graphics/drafting experience.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Architectural Registration (RA) license.
3 years of professional work experience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
