STARTING RATE: $15.50/hr.

SHIFT: Part-Time 7:00am-3:00pm

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning resident rooms and other interior and exterior facility areas and assisting in maintaining a clean and attractive environment for the residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure facility linens and resident's clothing items are correctly collected, sorted, laundered, distributed, and stored according to facility policy

  • Keeps accurate records of linen inventory

  • Maintains a high level of cleanliness & safety throughout designated areas.

  • Ensure that all equipment is clean and in working condition at all times

  • Keep stock of adequate supply of laundry supplies

  • Maintain cleanliness of facility material

  • Performing basic housekeeping support procedures for residents as required by assisting in maintaining a clean and attractive environment for both residents and families

  • Clean patient rooms, offices, and common areas using cleaning chemicals and disinfectants, as well as both interior and exterior facility areas

  • Clean and sanitize floors, equipment, and furniture according to infection-control policies

  • Operate various types of cleaning equipment

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess a high school diploma or sufficient knowledge and education to perform job functions

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Understand and carry out oral and written directions

  • Dress in appropriate uniform and be at the appointed workstation when the shift starts and work consistently until the shift ends

  • Follow directions of the Housekeeping Supervisor

  • Clean and care for assigned areas and equipment; set work priorities and work independently in the absence of supervision

  • Must meet health assessment requirements, including a two-state Mantoux skin test

  • Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required

  • Must be capable of performing all essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations
