Job Posting Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for managing the full recruitment life cycle at Mercy University. The incumbent will be responsible for working collaboratively within the Human Resources Department and partnering with hiring managers to fill employment vacancies and ensure a great candidate experience.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Build solid recruitment processes by partnering with hiring managers to ensure understanding and use of the applicant tracking system.

  • Assist hiring managers with managing job requisitions and update or edit as necessary to ensure accurate source data for posting.

  • Create and manage system user ID’s and access.

  • Execute and maintain talent acquisition processes and related job aids, tools, and communications.

  • Use various methods to recruit and network with potential candidates including job boards, social media platforms, networking events and job fairs.

  • Support management of agency relationships and temporary personnel placement.

  • Exercise discretion in the expenditure of company resources related to recruiting/sourcing process, evaluating risk and/or ensuring appropriate return on investment.

  • Draft job descriptions, position requirements, and job postings and offer/rejection letters.

  • Ensure alignment with compensation structure for all positions.

  • Conduct preliminary interviews and use standardized screening techniques to gauge applicant interest, qualifications, and salary requirements.

  • Review organizational benefits with applicants/candidates in eligible positions.

  • Ensure proper onboarding (tracking progress) for new hires and the necessary documents are completed promptly and accurately.

  • Conducts background checks and completes employer Form I-9 using eVerify.

  • Reports and tracks key recruitment operational and performance metrics and analytics.

  • Delivers process improvements and technology enhancements and identifies opportunities to improve candidate experience.

  • Serve as subject matter expert with regard to recruitment and staffing and applicant tracking system.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

  • One to two years of experience in high volume recruiting.

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding recruitment and employment.

  • Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and implement targeted recruitment initiatives and deliver one-on-one or group training.

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills operating within strict deadlines; self-starter and team contributor.

  • Able to anticipate opportunities and concerns with strong follow-through on commitments.

  • Proficient in various applicant tracking systems and web-based technology and toggling different screens.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products, such as Excel and Word.

  • Experience with Banner or NeoEd a plus.

    Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

    Physical/Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to meet all general health requirements for the position as per University policies

    Compensation offered will be commensurate with the educational background and work experience of the individual.

The Mercy University Retirement Plan is comprised of two components:

Deferred Compensation Plan

All eligible employees may contribute to the Deferred Compensation Plan on a pre-tax basis upon joining the University.

Defined Contribution Plan

Eligible employees are enrolled in the Defined Contribution Plan after two (2) years of full-time employment at Mercy University and receive a semi-monthly contribution from the College, based on age and salary. If an employee is under age 36, they will receive a contribution of 3.3% of their annual salary each pay period. If an employee is age 36 or older, they will receive a contribution of 9% of their annual salary each pay period.

If employed full-time for two (2) or more consecutive years by another institution(s) of higher education (college or university), without an intervening break in service within the last twelve (12) months prior to employment before joining Mercy, please submit a waiting period waiver form to Office of Human Resources. The Defined Contribution will begin as of the first day of the month following receipt of the completed waiver form.
