Volunteer Coordinator
Salary: $18.13 - $19.31
Position Overview: The Volunteer Coordinator will connect therapy dogs and their handlers with community opportunities. This role is responsible for managing and implementing the Pet Connections volunteer program, including onboarding new teams, ensuring proper training, paperwork, and screening, and maintaining accurate records. The Coordinator will promote the program, recruit volunteers, coordinate training classes, and match volunteers with suitable opportunities based on their interests and dogs' temperaments. They will engage with volunteers regularly, create schedules, track activities, and promote the program to local businesses. Additional duties include organizing events, reporting on volunteer activities, and ensuring adherence to policies, all while working in a dynamic environment that involves interacting with dogs and performing physical tasks as needed.
Work Location: Canandaigua, NY
Schedule: M-F 8am-12pm, Flexibility in schedule required to meet agency needs.

Responsibilities
Assist with the scheduling and promotion of Dog training classes to recruit and train new volunteers.
Ensures that each class is set up in our database so that people can register and pay, ensuring payment before confirming registration.

Requirements
Associates degree and at least 3 years of experience in volunteer coordination or similar administrative positions, or an equivalent amount of combined education/experience.
Valid NYS Driver's License
Required to work around dogs at times.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with volunteers and stakeholders
