Outreach is seeking an experienced and extremely motivated Part-Time Bilingual Adolescent Substance Abuse Counselor to work for our adolescent outpatient satellite program located at 400 Crooked Hill Rd, Brentwood, NY. The SAC is responsible for the delivery and implementation of long term supervision, support and clinical services to a population of chemically dependent adolescents with co-occurring and mental health problems. The SAC serves as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.

What You Will Do:

  • Facilitate various formats (e.g. individuals, groups, specialty groups) on time and in a professional, ethical and caring manner.

  • Manage all aspects of a caseload from date of entry to date of discharge with special attention to appropriate levels of care and appropriate clinical interventions.

  • Provide backup coverage in the event of other clinical staff absences.

  • Demonstrate initiative in task identification and completion; use time efficiently in working with the Program Coordinator at Bellport to effectively handle volume of work.

  • Address program issues with the Program Director, which pertain to strategic objectives, annual plan and overall delivery of services.

  • Participate in and support agency quality improvement programs; support actions to improve care

Who You Are:

  • Experience working with adolescents

  • Fluent Spanish is a must

  • CASAC, CASAC-T, LCSW, LCSW-R, LMFT, LMHC, LMSW, MFT, MFT LP, MHC, MHC LP, MSW, MSW LP

  • Experience working in an outpatient 822 program

  • Limited permit or clinical master’s level candidate with experience working with adolescents will be considered

  • 2-3 years of experience with substance abuse disorders

  • 1-2 years of experience working with clients with co-occurring and mental health problems

  • 1-2 years of experience working in in an OASAS funded facility a plus

  • Commitment to providing quality services and outcome driven performance measures

  • Strong networking and public relations skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders, populations, and cultures

  • Action-oriented, adaptable, and innovative approach to program planning

  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people

  • Experience with AVATAR electronic health records a plus

Schedule on-site: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 3:00-8pm; Tuesday 3- 7 pm

For this Long Island, NY position, the expected base salary is $23.00 - $40.00 / hour.
