Outreach Development Corporation Family Therapist--Part-Time in Bellport, New York

Outreach is seeking a Part Time Family Counselor to work in the Outpatient Unit located in Bellport, Long Island. The Part Time Family Therapist is responsible for the delivery and implementation of family assessments, education and coordination of family services and referral services and serves as a member of the treatment team. The Schedule is Monday - Friday 9:00am-5:00pm; 19 hrs.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide family counseling and/or family therapy with clients and their family members.

  • Complete family assessments for clients in the track in the outpatient program.

  • Develop family-focused treatment plans with clients.

  • Develop and facilitate parent-education groupsand activities as appropriate.

  • Provide individual sessions with clients andfamilies as indicated.

  • Facilitate appropriate Chemical Dependency Educationgroups for clients and families.

  • Provide referrals to needed community-based services,which will support treatment goals and prevent dropout.

  • Maintain communication and teamwork withclinical staff to integrate and enhance clinical services.

  • Document activity and outcomes using acceptablemeasures and tools.

  • Actively participate in all meetings (i.e.,staff meetings, case conference, team meetings and individual supervision) bybeing prepared utilizing problem-solving skills and providing appropriatefeedback to team members.

  • Provide backup coverage in the event of otherclinical staff absences.

    Who You Are:

  • Advanced degree: CASAC, LMFT, LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, MHC LP, MSW LP or higher preferred, Limited Permit in LMSW, LMFT.

  • 2-3 years of experience with substance abuse disorders

  • 1-2 years of experience working with clients with co-occurring and mental health problems

  • 1-2 years of experience working in an OASAS-funded facility a plus

  • Experience working with women 18

    • Experience working in Outpatient treatment
  • Commitment to providing quality services and outcome-driven performance measures.

  • Excellent organizational management skills with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance clinicians, set and achieve program objectives.

  • Experience in family counseling and parenting

  • Strong networking and public relations skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders, populations, and cultures.

  • Action-oriented, adaptable, and innovative approach to program planning.

  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people

  • Experience with AVATAR electronic health records a plus.

  • Bilingual Spanish a plus

    For this Long Island, NY position the expected base salary is $23.00 - $40.00 / hour.
