Minimum Qualifications Candidate must be a matriculated part time or full time undergraduate or graduate student at a school recognized by the New York State Education Department. Documentation of current matriculation and enrollment must be submitted with your resume.
Duties Description • Supporting in communication with the NYS Office of Language Access and compliance with the language access law requirements • Engaging with a diverse set of divisions hosted at the New York State Department of State to better serve all new Americans regardless of the language they speak, including creating content to train staff • Developing statistics on languages spoken by individuals with a limited English proficiency in New York State through use of most recent Census Data • Assisting with organizing and mailing of NYS Office of Language Access language identification tools • Researching best practices nation-wide in the delivery of culturally and linguistically responsive government services, including plain language and easy read• Supporting the identification and on-boarding of language access vendors through the Request for Quotes process
